Migration & Music Ceremony

TRACES Project, in collaboration with Orchestra Lamatna, organized a Music Ceremony at the AUC Falaki Theater to celebrate the five founding members of the Sudan Radio and Television Orchestra. The purpose of the music ceremony was to engage members of the Sudanese community in Cairo and to create the opportunity to share feelings of solidarity and care. 

Members of the orchestra included: Abdullah Arabi (violin), Awadallah Rahama (violin), Ibrahim Abdelwahab (drums), Mohamed Gibreel (bass guitar) and Ramadan Bashir (guitar).

Sudanese artists, refugee activists, and community leaders had the opportunity to gather and collectively share new and old memories of displacement thanks to cultural heritage practices. 

The event was live streamed on social media and more than 150 people attended.
